CNC Turning
First Components Limited have a variety of CNC lathes, to include platten type lathes, Swiss type sliding head lathes, with fixed tools, live tools, front and back working tools to allow for precision rapid production of mill turn / turned parts. Handling capabilities of round and hexagonal bar from 3mm diameter to 42mm diameter and in a variety of material to include aluminium, steel, tool steels, voldeholm tool steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, phosphor bronze, titanium, alconite and specialised alloys as well as plastics such as nylon, peek plastics and tuffnol. Applications include turned components for automotive and aerospace industries and precision general engineering.
CNC Milling
First Components Limited offer CNC (computer numerical controlled) vertical machining centre in the form of the Haas VMC VFO. This miller allows for precision rapid production of milled parts. Ideal for protoype making or tool making our Vertical Machining Centres are able to process a variety of materials to include aluminium, steel, tool steels, voldeholm tool steel, stainless steel, brass, phosphor bronze, alconite, copper, titanium, specialised alloys, graphite or plastics such as nylons, peek plastics or tufnol. Applications include milled components for automotive and aerospace industries and precision general engineering.
Presswork
First Components Limited presses range from 3T to 110T in capacity, all progression presses are servo roll fed with Bruderer digital servo roll feeds. Progression press work and secondary operational work carried out. Full range of materials processed including mild steel, stainless steel, spring steel, brass, copper, beryllium copper, phosphor bronze, aluminium and specialist alloys. Coil capacity up to 1T in weight and 250mm width can be processed. Full tool design and manufacture carried out in house. First components Limited supply presswork, metal pressing, pressed components to the aerospace, medical, automotive, electrical and white goods industries in batches ranging from 500 to 1 million plus.
Press Brake
First Components offer press braking, bending, of a variety of material to include aluminium, steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, phosphor bronze, titanium and specialised alloys. Applications include bent components for automotive and aerospace industries and precision general engineering.
Wire Erosion
For precision cutting we offer wire erosion from our Agie 100d wire eroder. This precision cutting wire eroder allows for work in a variety of materials to include aluminium, steel, tool steels, voldeholm tool steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze, copper, titanium or specialised alloys. Applications include precision cutting of components for automotive and aerospace industries and precision general engineering, as well as toolmaking design and prototyping.
Laser Cutting
First Components offer precision laser cutting using high powered laser material can be cut up to a sheet size of 1250 x 2500 and between 1 and 10mm thick. Specialising in high production of short run sheet metal parts. Laser metal cutting, laser cut components to the aerospace, medical, automotive, electrical and white goods industries.
Wire Cutting and Forming
For the turning and threading up to 6.0mm diameter precision components in a variety of materials including mild steel, stainless steel, nickel, nilo, brass, copper, beryllium copper, phosphor bronze, aluminium and others. Supplying the aerospace, medical, automotive, electrical, white goods industries and precision general engineering..
Precision Coordinate Measuring Machine
A 'coordinate-measuring machine' (CMM) is a device for dimensional measuring. It is a machine that is used to move a measuring probe to obtain the coordinates of points on an object surface. Coupled with powerful software reverse engineering can be achieved and reproduction of components where drawings are not available.
Precision CAD / CAM Software
Coupled with the investment in CNC - computer controlled machinery, First Components Limited have also invested in the latest market leading CAD / CAM software. With products from Autodesk in the form of Auto CAD along with with specific packages from One CNC and Camteck for control over the CNC millers, Lathes and Wire erosion machines. To oversee the production operation environment PSL DataTrack provides a market leading fully integrated manufacturing system.
